A muslim youth is the pillars of resurgence and the foundation of change. Change starts from the mind and spreads its tentacles to the society. Allah establishes His fundamental principle concerning it as:
..... Verily Allah will not Change the condition of a people as long as they do not Change their  states of minds.... Qur'an (11, verse11).
Hence, it is obligatory on the Muslim youth to be greatly concerned about himself/herself, and commit it to all the areas that he/she wants others to implement on themselves.
DUTIES, OF MUSLIM YOUTHS

When a Muslim is steadfast on the path of his Lord, and he knows his right and duties, defines his priorities and plans his time, he will be able to discharge all the Responsibilities expected from him, with which he Changes himself and the society. Here are some of the duties:

1. Iman, knowledge and education - Islam pays alot of attention to the building of the human personality and takes care of it in all its aspects - material and abstract, spiritual and intellectual. Every aspect affects the other and fortune is based on balance, mutual support and mutual co-operation of these powers.
knowledge is the path through which man distinguishes between goodness, and bad. It is also the path towards building of nations and the resurgence of a society. Thus:
"The best of friends.... A beneficial Book"

2. Times of work: A Muslim is an active person, to him work is worship and perfection of work is act of seeking closeness to his Lord. A man that sits without working has no honour in the Islamic society.
The caliph Umar ibn al-khattab said: 'I would see a man and be impressed by him. But when I am informed that he has no profession or trade loses his dignity before me'. A Muslim is an organized person. He gives everyone who has a right his due right. He organizes his time. He gives every work a suitable time.

3. Rest time: Rest, relaxation and physical exercises are often neglected, no importance is attached to them, they are not given adequate and suitable time. This is to the extent that when they are mentioned in our programmes, we drop them on the excuse that we have no time for them and that important works have taken the time of rest... And so on..
Ali (R.A) said: ' Relax the hearts hour after hour, because if the heart is under constant compulsion, it turns blind.'

4. Time to socialize: this social behaviour would reflect a noble feeling in our souls that have been devoid or nearly devoid of emotional feelings. It would also make us have knowledge of our prevailing circumstance.

5. Time to sleep:  To organize time - in general - it is compulsory to concentrate on one activity that takes a great part of our time - it is sleep. If you organize your sleep well, it is possible to organize the remainder of the task, necessary. You may ask: Should I sleep less so that I can have additional time?
No; that is a faulty style. The reality is that you may need additional sleep to be able to carry out a better and a  more perfect task. [The prophet said: " There is no negligence in sleep; negligence is just in keeping awake" (Sahih al-Jaami' as-Sagheer)]

among the peak of mistakes and great injustice to our right and that of others is for us to reduce the time of our sleep and then afterwards sleep at gathering and meetings. Even if we do not sleep we will participate at a level below satisfactory because we would not have given our body and brain their needs of rest and sleep. A person that sleeps late would fundamentally be deprived of the early hours of the morning. Even his mental situation during the late night hours - after a long day of hard work - would be at its minimum serenity.
A better approach is that a person Should sleep early and wake up early. Then he will have the morning period, which is one of the most blessed and glittering, when he will be at the climaxed of intellectual serenity and psychological preparedness.
Studies have also confirmed that many authors and journalists write their important works in the early hours of the morning. We Muslims find this in the directives of prophet Muhammad (s.a.w) when he used to say:
"Oh Allah, bless my Ummah in their dawn" (Ahmad).
 INVEST THE EARLY HOURS IN:
A. Recitation of Qur'an and its memorization.
 B. Early morning Adhkaar (invocations).
 C. Studying and learning.
 D. Carrying out important tasks.

6. Emergencies and problems: Emergencies and problems are part of the marks of life, and as long as man works, he is exposed to problems. A person who does not face problems is not working. Planning reduces many of them and assists in solving them but, naturally, it does not stop them. It is compulsory for a person to include a program and scheme to solve the problems in his plan. Common attributes you can do are:
1. Turn away from negative language and get committed to the positive one. See a problem as an opportunity to accept challenges, show abilities and gather experiences.
2. Knowing the cause leading to the occurrence of the problem prevents 20% of problems, etc.
3. View a problem as having a logical solution that can be implemented.

lastly:  These are quick observations that pointed out on to value of time in the life of a muslim. The prophet narrated from Suhuf Ibraheem that:

"It is necessary for the wise - as long as he is not mentally disabled - to have four periods:
1. Time of consultation with his Lord.
2. Time to evaluate himself.
3. Time to ponder over the creations of Allah.
4. Time to spend for seeking his need in terms of food and drink".
[Ibn Hibbaan (from Abu Dharr) and al-Haakim].

Allah created his slaves so that they may remember Him, and He provided sustenance for them so that they may be grateful to Him. Nevertheless, many have worshipped other than Him and the masses are thankful not to Him, but to others, because the characteristic of ingratitude is prevent among most people. So do not be dismayed when you find that others forget your favors or disregard your kind acts. Some people might even despise you and treat you as enemy for no other reason than that you have shown them kindness.
DO NOT EXPECT GRATITUDE FROM ANYBODY

{And they could not find any cause to bear a grudge [against Muhammad], except that Allah and His messenger had enriched them of His Bounty.}   (Qur'an 9:74)

From among the ever-repeating pages of history is a story of a father and his son: the father raised him, fed him, clothed him and taught him; he stay hungry so that his son could eat, and he would toil so that his son could feel comfort. And when the son became older and Stronger; he rewarded his father with disobedience, disrespect, and contempt.
So be at peace if you are requited with ungratefulness for the good you have done. Rejoice in your knowledge that you will be rewarded from the One who has unlimited treasures at His disposal.

This is not to say that you should refrain from performing acts of kindness toward them: the point is that you should be mentally prepared for ingratitude.

Perform acts of charity seeking Allah' pleasure, because with this attitude you will assuredly be successful. The ungrateful person cannot really harm you: praise Allah that that person is the transgressor and that you are the obedient servant. Also, remember that the hand that gives is better than the hand that receives.
{We feed you seeking Allah's Countenance only. We wish for no reward, nor thanks from you.}        (Qur'an 76:9)

Many people are shocked at the nature of ingratitude in others, as though they had never come across this Verse and others like it:
{And when harm touches man, he invokes Us, lying down on his side, or sitting or standing. But when We have removed his harm from him, he passes on his way as if he had never invoked Us for a harm that touched him!}    (Qur'an 10:12)

Hence do not be in a state of agitation if you give someone a pen as a gift and he uses it to satirize you, or if you give someone a walking stick to lean upon and he strikes you with it. As already pointed out, most human beings are ungrateful to their Lord,  so what treatment should you and I expect?

Islam guides in Truth that regardless of the number of times one falls into temptation and commits a sin, as long as one sincerely turns back to their Lord seeking sincerely forgiveness, the Lord Most Gracious Most Merciful has promised to forgive that repentant slave his sin.
Allah says in the Holy Quran Chapter 39 Surah Zumur verses 53-54:
(O Prophet) say: “O My servants who have wronged their own souls….Do not despair of Allah’s Mercy!  Surely,  Allah forgives all sins.   He indeed is the All Forgiving,  All Merciful.   Return to your Lord and submit to Him before the scourge overtakes you;  for then you may get no help from anywhere.

Allah says in the Holy Quran Chapter 3 Surah Ale Imraan verse 135-136:
Allah likes such good people very much, who,  if ever they commit a base deed or wrong their own soul by the commission of a sin,  remember Allah instantly,  and ask for forgiveness from Him for their shortcomings.  For who,  but Allah,  can forgive sins?  (And Allah loves those) who do not knowingly persist in the wrongs they did.   These will be rewarded with forgiveness from Allah,  and with Gardens beneath which canals flow,  and they will reside therein forever!   How excellent is the reward of those who do good deeds!
Allah says in the Holy Quran Chapter 6 Surah Anaam verse 54:
When those come to you who believe in Our Signs,  say: “Peace be on you!  Your Lord had inscribed for Himself (the rule of) Mercy.  Verily if any of you did evil in ignorance,  and thereafter repented and amended (his conduct),  Lo! He is Oft-Forgiving,  Most Merciful.”
Sahih Muslim Hadith 6499     Narrated by Abu Dharr (may Allah be pleased with him)
Allah’s Messenger (peace be upon him) said: that Allah, the Exalted and Glorious, stated: ‘He who comes with goodness, there are in store for him ten like those and even more than those; And he who comes with vice, it is only for that that he is called to account. I even forgive him as I like, and he who draws close to Me by the span of a palm I draw close to him by a cubit, and he who draws close to Me by a cubit I draw close to him by the space (covered) by two hands, and he who walks towards Me I rush towards him, and he who meets Me in the state that his sins fill the earth, but not associating anything with Me, I would meet Him with the same (vastness) of pardon (on My behalf).”
Hadith Qudsi 34
The Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) said that Allah Subhanah, High and Exalted He is, says: ‘O son of Adam, so long as you call upon Me and ask of Me, I shall forgive you for what you have done, and I shall not mind.  O son of Adam, were your sins to reach the clouds of the sky and were you then to ask forgiveness of Me, I would forgive you.  O son of Adam, were you to come to Me with sins nearly as great as the earth and were you then to face Me, ascribing no partner to Me, I would bring you forgiveness nearly as great at it.’
Al-Tirmidhi Hadith 2339        Narrated by Abu Sa’id (may ALLAH be pleased with him)
Allah’s Messenger (peace be upon him) said that the Shaytaan said, “By Thy Might, my Lord, I shall continue to lead Thy servants astray as long as their spirits are in their bodies.”  The Lord, Who is Great and Glorious, replied, “By My Might, Glory and Exalted Station, I shall continue to pardon them as long as they ask My forgiveness.”
Thus one who sincerely believes in the vastness of the Lord’s Grace and Mercy, should never never ever despair of the Mercy and Pardon of His Lord, regardless of what or how many sins one might have done in one’s past…..if one sincerely turns back unto the Lord seeking His forgiveness, he will find his Lord Forgiving and Merciful.
But those sinners will not be forgiven who pre-plan to commit sin with the intention that after they have sinned they will seek forgiveness; then pre-plan the sin again with the intent that they will repent later, or persist in their sin with the intent that they will seek repentance just before their death…..such sinners try to make a mockery of the Vastness of the Mercy and Grace of the Lord Most High with their pre-planned sinning and meaningless repentance.
Allah Says in the Holy Quran Chapter 4 Surah Nisaa verses 17-18:
Allah accepts the repentance of those who do evil in ignorance and repent soon afterwards; to them will Allah turn in mercy; for Allah is full of knowledge and wisdom.18      Of no effect is the repentance of those who continue to do evil until death faces one of them and he says “Now have I repented indeed”; nor of those who die rejecting faith: for them have We prepared a punishment most grievous.
I hope it will be helpful. May Allah Subhanahu wa ta’ala forgive us and guide us all to the straight path.
Ameen
