1. “Successful indeed are the Mu-mineen, those who humble themselves in their prayer.”Qur’an 23:1-2
2. The right to enter Al-Jannah through Baab As-Salah - The door of Prayer.
3. It will become a source of strength and power and will serve as a protection from Shaytan and provide you with stability. Allah (swt), says:
“Seek help through Sabr (patience) and Salah.”Qur’an 2:45
This is evident in the following Hadith:
“He (saws), when saddened by a thing, would seek refuge in prayer.”
Related by Ahmad and Abu Dawud
Whenever you are in need or trouble - pray!
Innumerable rewards Rewards of Salah4. Help’s one’s conscience and purifies and perfects other deeds. Indeed all of our actions, word and deed, are affected by our Salah. And, Subhan Allah, it works in two very simple ways. Submit more in Salah and you’ll submit in other deeds…and vice versa!!!

“The first thing that the servant will be called to account for on the Day of Judgment will be Salah. If it is good, his deeds will have been good. If it is bad, his deed will have been bad.” Related by Al-Tabarani

5. Perfects one’s morals, manners, character and attitude. This is known as Husnul Khuluq.
“Verily Salah restrains from indecency and evil deeds” Qur’an 29:45
So, seek guidance and help from Allah for proper and submissive prayer. The Prophet Ibrahim (as) used to make the following du’a:
“O Lord! Make me and my offspring of those who establish regular Salah. O our Lord, and accept my supplication.” Qur’an 14:40

How do we get closer to Allah? How do we learn to remember and appreciate him and be grateful? I'm trying but it's a little difficult

“O you who have attained to faith! Fasting is ordained for you as it was ordained for those before you, so that you might remain conscious of God” [2:183]
Serve the poor.
"[The truly virtuous are] they [who] fulfil their vows, and stand in awe of a Day the woe
allah, Allah, closer,
of which is bound to spread far and wide, and who give food - however great be their own want of it - unto the needy, and the orphan, and the captive, [saying, in their hearts,] ‘We feed you for the sake of God alone: we desire no recompense from you, nor thanks: behold, we stand in awe of our Sustainer’s judgment1 on a distressful, fateful Day!’" [76:7-10]
Be nicer to your parents.
Be more patient with your siblings.
"And worship God [alone], and do not ascribe divinity, in any way, to aught beside Him. And do good unto your parents, and near of kin, and unto orphans, and the needy, and the neighbour from among your own people, and the neighbour who is a stranger, and the friend by your side, and the wayfarer, and those whom you rightfully possess. Verily, God does not love any of those who, full of self-conceit, act in a boastful manner;” [4:36]
Finally, to sum it all up, The Prophet is reported to have said in Sahih Muslim and in Imam Nawawi’s collection the following:
"Whoever removes a worldly grief from a believer, God will remove from him one of the griefs of the Day of Resurrection. And whoever alleviates the need of a needy person, God will alleviate his needs in this world and the Hereafter. Whoever shields [or hides the misdeeds of] a Muslim, God will shield him in this world and the Hereafter. And God will aid His slave so long as he aids his brother. And whoever follows a path to seek knowledge therein, God will make easy for him a path to Paradise. No people gather together in one of the Houses of God, reciting the Book of God and studying it among themselves, except that sakeenah (tranquility) descends upon them, and mercy envelops them, and the angels surround them, and God mentions them amongst those who are with Him. And whoever is slowed down by his actions, will not be hastened forward by his lineage."

How do we get closer to Allah ?

Hayya las Salah, Hayya Lal Falah: Rush to Prayer, Rush to Success
Think about Salah for a moment, and the power it has to fight distractions when performed properly and full concentration. When the athan goes off, we physically get up, leave everything we do, cleanse ourselves with a purifying ritual called wudhu, walk to the nearest mosque, perform a set of pre-defined actions with full concentration and thought, then head back home feeling completely refreshed.

This happens 5 times a day at a minimum. Have you ever thought about the effect this action has in our day to day focus and for our spiritual productivity?
Islam emphasises the importance of one’s focus on their Salah, in fact focus and concentration are linked to success in this life and the Hereafter. Allah Subhanahu Wa Ta’ala reminds us in the Qur’aan that:
“Successful indeed are the believers. Those who offer their Salah (prayers) with all solemnity and full submissiveness”
[Surah Al-Mu’minun 23: 1-2)

How To Became Successful Person ( Prayer )

Since Islam teaches us to develop complete focus on our submission and relationship with Allah, this focus is not only meant for our daily prayers, but should stretch to every aspect of our life. Living a distracted life might be ‘fun’ but it’s not productive, and to be honest, I would suggest that a distracted life is one of the tricks of Shaytaan to keep our focus away from what is truly important in our lives.

Remember, for a Muslim, the key to success in this life and Hereafter is truly dependent on being able to fully concentrate and FOCUS in salah, and give our undivided attention to our Creator – Allah (Subhanahu Wa Ta’ala).

The Husband Who Was Too Shy To Look At His Wife

This story was recounted by Prof. Khalid Al-Jubeir, consulting cardiovascular surgeon, in one of his lectures:Once I operated on a two and a half year old child. It was Tuesday, and on Wednesday the child was in good health.

On Thursday at 11:15 am – and I’ll never forget the time because of the shock I experienced – one of the nurses informed me that the heart and breathing of the child had stopped. I hurried to the child and performed cardiac massage for 45 minutes and during that entire time the heart would not work. Then, ALLAH decreed for the heart to resume function and we thanked HIM.

I went to inform the child’s family about his condition. As you know, it is very difficult to inform the patient’s
family about his condition when it’s bad. This is one of the most
difficult situations a doctor is subjected to but it is necessary.
So I looked for the child’s father whom I couldn’t find. Then I found his
mother. I told her that the child’s cardiac arrest was due to bleeding in his throat; we don’t know the cause of this bleeding and fear that his brain is dead.
So how do you think she responded?
Did she cry?
Did she blame me?
No, nothing of the sort. Instead, she said “Alhamdulillah” (All Praise is due to ALLAH)
and left me. After 10 days, the child started moving. We thanked ALLAH and
were happy that his brain condition was reasonable.
After 12 days, the heart stopped again because of the same bleeding. We performed another cardiac massage for 45 minutes but this time his heart didn’t respond. I told his mother that there was no hope.
The Husband Who Was Too Shy To Look At His Wife , islamic stories

So she said: “Alhamdulillah. O ALLAH, if there is good in his recovery, then cure him, O my Lord.” With the grace of ALLAH, his heart started functioning again.
He suffered six similar cardiac arrests till a trachea specialist was able to stop the bleeding and the heart started working properly. Now, three and a half months had passed and the child was recovering but did not move. Then just as he started moving, he was afflicted
with a very large and strange pus-filled abscess in his head, the likes of which I had never seen.
I informed his mother of the serious development. She said “Alhamdulillah” and left me.
We immediately turned him over to the surgical unit that deals with the brain and nervous system and they took over his treatment.
Three weeks later, the boy recovered from this abscess but was still not moving. Two weeks pass and he suffers from a strange blood poisoning and his temperature reaches 41.2°C (106°F).
I again informed his mother of the serious development and she said with patience and certainty: “Alhamdulillah. O ALLAH, if there is good in his recovery, then cure him.
”After seeing his mother who was with her child at Bed#5,
I went to see another child at Bed#6. I found that child’s mother crying and screaming, “Doctor! Doctor! Do something! The boy’s temperature reached 37.6°C (99.68°F)! He’s going to die! He’s going to die!”

I said with surprise, “Look at the mother of that child in Bed#5. Her child’s fever is over 41°C (106°F), yet she is patient and praises ALLAH.”
So she replied: “That woman isn’t conscious and has no senses”.
At that point, I remembered the great Hadith of the Prophet (Sallallaahu Alaihi Wa Sallam): “Blessed are the strangers.”
Just two words… but indeed two words that shake a nation!
In 23 years of hospital service, I have never seen the likes of this patient sister.

We continued to care for him. Now, six and a half months have passed and the boy finally came out of the recovery unit – not talking, not seeing, not hearing, not moving, not smiling, and with an open chest in which you can see his beating heart. The mother changed the dressing regularly and remained patient and hopeful.
Do you know what happened after that?
Before I inform you, what
do you think are the prospects of a child who has passed through all these dangers, agonies, and diseases?
And what do you expect this patient mother to do whose child is at the brink of the grave and who is unable to do anything except supplicate and beseech ALLAH?
Do you know what happened two and a half months later?
The boy was completely cured by the mercy of ALLAH and as a reward for this pious mother. He now races his mother with his feet as if nothing happened and he became sound and healthy as he was before. The story doesn’t end here. This is not what moved me and brought tears to my eyes.
What filled my eyes with tears is what
follows: One and a half years after the child left the hospital, one of the brothers from the Operations Unit informed me that a man, his wife and two children wanted to see me. I asked who they were and he replied that he didn’t know them. So I went to see them, and I found the parents of the same child whom I operated upon.
He was
now five years old and like a flower in good health – as if nothing happened to him. With them also was a four-month old newborn. I welcomed them kindly and then jokingly asked the father whether the newborn was the 13th or 14th child.
He looked at me with an astonishing smile as if he pitied me. He then said, “This is the second child, and the child upon whom you operated is our first born, bestowed upon us after 17 years of infertility. And after being granted that child, he was afflicted with the conditions that you’ve
seen.”

At hearing this, I couldn’t control myself and my eyes filled with tears.
I then involuntarily grabbed the man by the arm, and pulling him to my room, asked him about his wife: “Who is this wife of yours who after 17 years of infertility has this much patience with all the fatal conditions that afflict her first born?! Her heart cannot be barren! It must be fertile with Imaan!
”Do you know what he said? Listen carefully my dear brothers and sisters. He said, “I was married to this woman for 19 years and for all these years she has never missed the [late] night prayers except due to an authorized excuse. I have never witnessed her backbiting, gossiping, or lying. Whenever I leave home or return, she opens the door, supplicates for me, and receives me hospitably. And in everything she does, she demonstrates the utmost love, care, courtesy, and compassion.” The man completed by saying, “Indeed, doctor, because of all the noble manners and affection with which she treats me, I’m shy to lift up my eyes and look at her.
So I said to him: “And the likes of her truly deserve that from you.

Bismillahir Rehmanir Raheem . Assalamo alykum wa Rehmatullahe wa Barakaatuh
How to Make Dua That Improves Your Life

Do you want to improve your life? Do you want to be a happier person? Do you want the satisfaction of knowing the future is going to be better than the past?

Of course you do. We all want better lives. And the great thing is, we Muslims have a “secret” weapon to get this improved life. You know what I’m going to say.

It’s dua. Yes, our duas (supplication) can impact our lives immediately. Why? Because it’s direct communication with our Lord, Allah the Mighty and Majestic. So if you’re not happy with the way things are going in your life, I encourage you to turn to dua.

However, simply begging Allah to “give me this” and “give me that” may seem futile if not done correctly. Therefore, I’d like to list a few tidbits and ideas that will improve the way you make dua, and bring you closer to Allah.

Your Intention Must Be Good

While this may seem obvious, it may be worth noting that for our duas to be accepted, we should have good intentions. In other words, we shouldn’t make dua against someone else simply because they wronged us or have upset us.

We especially should be careful about making dua against our family members. Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) has said in an authentic hadith that Allah answers our prayers so long as we do not seek to break family ties.

Sometimes our family angers us and make us want to do and say evil things. When these things happen, it is important that we have patience and not ask Allah to curse them or bring some punishment upon them. Perhaps if we are merciful and forgiving to our family, Allah may be merciful and forgiving to us.

We should also refrain from asking Allah for forbidden things. We should not make dua for alcohol, or pork, or illegal sexual intercourse. Once again, all of this may seem obvious, but I believe it’s important enough to mention anyway.

Follow the Prophet’s Advice

Assuming that you’re asking for something good and halal (allowed in Islam), the next thing to keep in mind is to make dua the way the Prophet (peace be upon him) taught us how to make dua.

Please read this beautiful Hadith (tradition) from Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him):

The supplication of every one of His slaves will be granted so long as he does not get impatient and says “I supplicated my Lord again and again but I do not think my prayers will be answered.” (Bukhari and Muslim)

With this in mind, here is a short list of things you should make sure are in place when making dua:

Praise Allah – Whatever it is you want in life, you must still be thankful and grateful for what Allah has already given you. Allah rewards gratitude and punishes ingratitude. So before you before you begin asking Allah for a bunch of things, make sure you begin by thanking and praising Him.
Send Peace and Blessing upon the Messenger of Allah – After praising Allah, the next you should do is ask Allah to bless Prophet Muhammad. The Prophet was the best of creation. So ask Allah to bless him and earn a little rewards before asking for things for yourself.
Supplicate with emotion – Your duas shouldn’t be dry, formulaic, robotic acts of worship. Instead, ask Allah for what you want with determination, desire, and devotion. Pray to Allah with the earnestness He deserves. It’s even better if you can cry while making dua. And if you cannot cry, then make yourself cry.
Have patience – One thing that makes our duas get rejected by Allah is losing patience. A person may ask Allah for something, and they don’t get it in the timeframe they want. So they get impatient and say things like: “I made dua for this, and Allah did not give it to me.” This impatience makes us lose all the blessing of our dua.
Be specific – Don’t say things like “Oh Allah, you know what I want, please give it to me.” Allah IS all hearing and all knowing, but we should articulate the specific things we want Him to give us. Ask for it directly and don’t say things like “If You will” when speaking to Allah. He will do what He wills anyway. So speak with conviction and the expectation that Allah will answer you.
Some Final Tips

There are many little things we can do to make our duas more impactful. Here are some brief pointers to keep in mind:

Pray for your parents when you make dua.
Pray for another Muslim in their absence without them knowing.
Make wudu before making dua.
Make dua when it’s raining.
Make dua in the last moments of daylight on Fridays.
Use authentic duas from the Quran and sunnah in Arabic (though it’s perfectly okay to make dua in your native tongue also).
Call upon Allah using the word “Rabbee (My Lord).”
Call upon Allah by His names (Ar-Rahman, Al-Ghafur, etc.)

Duas which definitely will improve your life significantly

Story of Umar Ibn Al Khattab (Ra)

Islam makes men rise to the challenge of becoming the greatest of men, and they were warriors but not against their women! The strongest of men are tamed by Islam which should remind us of the story of Umar Ibn Al Khattab (Ra).

It is reported that a man came to ‘Umar ibn Al-Khattab (radhiAllahu anhu) to complain about his wife’s ill-temper. While he was waiting for ‘Umar to come out of his house, he heard ‘Umar’s wife scolding him and ‘Umar quietly listening to her, and not answering her back. The man turned around and started walking away, muttering to himself: “If that is the case with ‘Umar, the leader of the believers, who is famous for his uprighteness and toughness, then what about poor me?!” At that moment, ‘Umar came out of his house and saw the man walking away. He called him and said, “What is it you want of me, O man?” The man replied: “O leader of the believers, I came to complain to you about my wife’s bad-temper and how she nags me. Then I heard your wife doing the same to you, so I turned around, muttering to myself, ‘If that is the situation of the leader of the believers, then what about me?’” ‘Umar replied, “O my brother, I bear with her because of her rights over me. She cooks my food, bakes my bread, washes my clothes, breast-feeds my child…and yet none of these are her duty; and then she is a comfort to my heart and keeps me away from forbidden deeds. Consequently, I bear with her.” The man said, “It is the same with me, O leader of the believers.” ‘Umar said: “Then, O my brother, be patient with her, indeed this life is short. (Adh-Dhahabi, Al-Kabâ’ir 194)
Story of Umar Ibn Al Khattab (Ra) ( about wife )

He, the Amir Al Mu’mineen, the absolute ruler didn’t change anything about this situation, by seeking Allah’s pleasure he was able to have patience with his wife out of love and mercy. Not allowing any arrogance or his position to dilute he’s relationship with his wife.
