Regarding Tahajjud Prayer.
First start off with reciting the Dua for Tahajjud before starting the salah. Then Pray 2 rakats of Salah each (without iqamah) and it can be prayed till 8 rakat,

how much of that you want to pray for example, 2 rakat or 4 rakat or 6 rakat or 8 rakat is upto you but more is always better inshaAllah.

After Tahajjud Salah is done, it is the sunnah to end with three rakat witr and if time is short then end with one rakat of Witr salah. Make Dua and ask for forgiveness and for Jannatul Ferdous and refuge against Hellfire.

It is best to pray Tahajjud Salah 1 to 1.5 hours (last one third of night) before Fajr starts. As Allah (swt) comes down to the first heaven in the last one third of night and invokes us to ask for forgiveness and anything else we want that is good, it is best that we ask and take the opportunity of this Divine Blessing; -Tahajjud
And from [part of] the night, pray with it as additional [worship] for you; it is expected that your Lord will resurrect you to a praised station.Surah Al-Isra 17:79

The _right _way _to_ pray _Tahajjud _prayer _( _night _prayer _)

Allah Descends to the First Heaven Every Night.
Abu Huraira reported Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) as saying:
Allah descends every night to the lowest heaven when one-third of the first part of the night is over and says: I am the Lord; I am the Lord: Who is there to supplicate Me so that I answer him? Who is there to beg of Me so that I grant him? Who is there to beg forgiveness from Me so that I forgive him? He continues like this till the day breaks. Sahih Muslim 758 b.

-11 Rakat of Tahajjud
It was narrated from 'Aishah that:The Prophet (ﷺ) used to pray eleven rak'ahs at night, ending them with one rak'ah of witr, then he would lie down on his right side. Sunan an-Nasa'i 1696

O Allah! All the praises are for you, You are the Holder of the Heavens and the Earth, And whatever is in them. All the praises are for You; You have the possession of the Heavens and the Earth And whatever is in them. All the praises are for You; You are the Light of the Heavens and the Earth And all the praises are for You; You are the King of the Heavens and the Earth; And all the praises are for You; You are the Truth and Your Promise is the truth, And to meet You is true, Your Word is the truth And Paradise is true And Hell is true And all the Prophets (Peace be upon them) are true; And Muhammad is true, And the Day of Resurrection is true. O Allah ! I surrender (my will) to You; I believe in You and depend on You. And repent to You, And with Your help I argue (with my opponents, the non-believers) And I take You as a judge (to judge between us). Please forgive me my previous And future sins; And whatever I concealed or revealed And You are the One who make (some people) forward And (some) backward. There is none to be worshipped but you.
Sahih al-Bukhari 1120.

-Cleaning Mouth with Siwak (Miswak) before Tahajjud
Narrated Hudhaifa: Whenever the Prophet (ﷺ) got up for Tahajjud prayer he used to clean his mouth (and teeth) with Siwak.
Sahih al-Bukhari 1136.

-Surah Imran last 10 verse
Narrated Kuraib Maula Ibn `Abbas:
`Abdullah bin `Abbas said that he had passed a night in the house of Maimuna the mother of the faithful believers , who was his aunt. He said, "I slept across the bed, and Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) along with his wife slept lengthwise. Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) slept till midnight or slightly before or after it. Then Allah's Apostle woke up, sat, and removed the traces of sleep by rubbing his hands over his face. Then he recited the last ten verses of Surat-Al `Imran.

Then he went towards a hanging leather water container and performed a perfect ablution and then stood up for prayer." `Abdullah bin `Abbas added, "I got up and did the same as Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) had done and then went and stood by his side.

Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) then put his right hand over my head and caught my right ear and twisted it. He offered two rak`at, then two rak`at, then two rak`at, then two rak`at, then two rak`at, then two rak`at and then offered one rak`a witr. Then he lay down till the Mu'adh-dhin came and then he prayed two light rak`at and went out and offered the early morning (Fajr) prayer."

Nowadays, our children open their eyes on a lot  technological methods, which it has a bad and good impact on our children personality. In my opinion its bad impact have a greater effect on the early ages . That is why we need to teach our kids the Islamic Tawhid. The question here now is ( How does a father teach his children Tawhid? -Sheikh ibn Uthaymeen rahimahullah )

● ‘He teaches them Tawheed just like he teaches them other matters of the Deen. From the best of what is in this subject is the book ‘The Three Principles’ by Shaykh-ul-Islaam Muhammad bin AbdulWahab. If he makes them memorise it by heart and explains to them its meanings appropriately to their understanding and their intellects.

practical ways to teach your children Tawhid?

● Then there comes a lot of goodness from this. This is because this book is built upon questions and answers, and clear easy expressions, which have no complexity. Then the father shows them the Ayaat of Allaah (His signs) so that he can practically implement what is mentioned in this small book. For example, the sun, the father asks, who created it? Likewise the moon, the stars, the night and day, you say to them: ‘The sun, who created it? Allaah.

● The moon? Allaah, the night? Allaah, the day? Allaah. Allaah -Azza wa Jal- created all of these. This is so that one can water the tree of the Fitrah (the natural disposition) because the human himself has been created with his natural disposition upon Tawheed of Allaah -Azza wa Jal. Like the Prophet -sallAllaahu alayhi wa sallam- said:
‘Every newborn is born upon the Fitrah (natural disposition), so it is his parents who either make him into a Jew or into a Christian or into a Majoos (fire worshipper).’
● Also he teaches them Wudu, how to make Wudu by demonstration and saying: This is how one does Wudu, and he performs the Wudu in front of him.

● Likewise the Salah (prayer), along with taking aid with Allaah Ta’ala, and asking Allaah -Azza wa Jal- for guidance for them. Also, that one keeps away from any statement which opposes good behaviour or every prohibited action, so he should not get them used to lying, cheating and treachery, nor lowly manners.Even if the father was trialed by prohibited actions, like if he was trialed by smoking, he should not smoke in front of them because they will get used to it and it will become easy upon them to do it as well.
One should know that every man of a household is responsible for the people of the house, due to the saying of Allah Tabaraka wa Ta’ala:
《 O you who believe! Ward off from yourselves and your families a Fire (Hell)》[Tahreem: 6]
Our protecting them from the fire cannot be except if we get them used to righteous actions and to leave off bad actions. The Messenger of Allaah -sallAllaahu alayhi wa sallam- affirmed that in his saying:
‘A man is a shepherd for his family and he is responsible for his flock.’
A father should know that their being righteous is beneficial to him in this world and the hereafter Indeed from the closest of people to their fathers and mothers are the righteous children, male and female.
‘When a person dies his actions cease except for three: continuous charity, or knowledge people benefit from, or a righteous child who supplicates for him.’
We ask Allah Ta’ala to aid all of us upon carrying out the trust and responsibility.’[Silsilah Noor ala Darb. Tape: 350 side A] Courtesy of brother @Abu taymiy

The divorce percentage reached 25% in our Islamic world, it is a bad thing to mention  but why this happen because we lifted to Television and social media to get educated how to treat our wives and how our married life should be. we lifted away from our prophet Sunnah and now its time to back to our original source of knowledge and main teacher the best ever our prophet. Thousand of lesson all we need is to just know it and every thing will be fine.

Prophet _Muhammed _peace _be _upon _him

The GREATEST of all men, the most honorable of ALL Prophet's character:

Aisha رضي الله عنها once had a dispute with the Prophet صلى الله عليه وسلم. He said, 'Okay Aisha, I want to get someone to reconcile between us.' She agreed.

He said, 'Umar?' She said, 'No'. He said, 'Ali?' She replied 'No.'He mentioned so and so but she refused. Then he صلى الله عليه وسلم said, 'your father?'

Aisha said, 'Yes, my father is okay!' He, the Prophet of Allah brought her father and the father (Abu Bakr) came to fix the problem. Aisha was sitting on one side, the Prophet on that side and Abu Bakr رضي الله عنه  was listening.

The Prophet asked Aisha, 'Do you want to start first or would you like me to start first?' She said, 'You start first but don't tell nothing  but the truth!'

You know what Abu Bakr did?

He jumped on her i.e since when will the Prophet not tell the truth?! She ran very quickly to hide...you know where she ran to hide? Behind the Prophet's back!
The matter ended right there.Every once in a while when her father would pass by what did the Prophet tell Aisha? 'Do you remember O Aisha?'
'What O Messenger of Allah?'

'I saved you from that man, do you remember I saved you from that man one time?'What do you think about that? This is the Prophet of Allah صلى الله عليه وسلم!The greatest and most honorable man Allah created to walk the face of the Earth! He صلى الله عليه وسلم was the busiest of men baring the responsibility of taking mankind out from darkness to light, despite all this one finds his character, his manners, his behavior towards all people the most magnificent.

His character was of such that any individual who spoke to him would feel as if they were the most beloved to him.
Surah Al-Ahzab, Verse 21:

going to the mosque to pray is very important in Islam, some scholars argue that it is a must to go to pray the 5 prayers in the mosque. also it is forbidden to miss Friday prayer at mosque if you have no excuse.

Now lets talk about the right manner for Muslims to take when going to the mosque according to Quran.

(31. O Children of Adam!Take your adornment to every Masjid, and eat and drink, but waste not by extravagance, certainly He (ALLAH) likes not the wasteful.)

This honorable Ayah refutes the idolators'practice of performing Tawaf around the Sacred House while naked. Muslim, An-Nasa'i and Ibn Jarir, (the following wording is that of Ibn Jarir) recorded that Shu`bah said that Salamah bin Kuhayl said that Muslim Al-Batin said that Sa`id bin Jubayr said that Ibn `Abbas said, "The idolators used to go around the House while naked, both men and women, men in the day and women by night. The woman would say, "Today, a part or all of it will be unveiled, but whatever is exposed of it, I do not allow.'' ALLAH said in reply,
خُذُواْ زِينَتَكُمْ عِندَ كُلِّ مَسْجِدٍ
(Take your adornment to every Masjid,) Al-`Awfi said that Ibn `Abbas commented on:(Take your adornment to every Masjid) on "There were people who used to perform Tawaf around the House while naked, and ALLAH ordered them to take adornment, meaning, wear clean, proper clothes that cover the private parts.

Important _things _to _do _before _Going _To _The _Masjed _?

people were commanded to wear their best clothes when performing every prayer.'' Mujahid, `Ata', Ibrahim An-Nakha`i, Sa`id bin Jubayr, Qatadah, As-Suddi, Ad-Dahhak and Malik narrated a similar saying from Az-Zuhri, and from several of the Salaf.

They said that this Ayah was revealed about the idolators who used to perform Tawaf around the House while naked. This Ayah (7:31), as well as the Sunnah, encourage wearing the best clothes when praying, especially for Friday and `Id prayers. It is also recommended ﴿for men

﴾ to wear perfume for prayer, because it is adornment, and to use Siwak for it is part of what completes adornment. The best color for clothes is white, for Imam Ahmad narrated that Ibn `Abbas said that the Messenger of Allah said,

(Wear white clothes, for it is among your best clothes, and also wrap your dead with it. And Ithmid (antimony) is among the best of your Kuhl, for it clears the sight and helps the hair grow.) This Hadith has a sound chain of narration, consisting of narrators who conform to the conditions and guidelines of Imam Muslim. Abu Dawud, At-Tirmidhi and Ibn Majah

also recorded it, and At-Tirmidhi said, "Hasan Sahih.''

The story of a man who made a promise to tell the truth. Here is a story of a man who did a lot of bad things, but his promise to tell the truth saved him.

Telling the truth is a very good habit. If you always speak the truth, you can save yourself from a lot of trouble!

Once a man came to the prophet Muhammad (S) and said, "Oh prophet of Allah, I have many bad habits. Which one of them should I give up first?" The prophet said, "Give up telling lies first and always speak the truth." The man promised to do so and went home.

At night the man was about to go out to steal. Before setting out, he thought for a moment about the promise he made with the prophet. "If tomorrow the prophet asks me where have I been, what shall I say? Shall I say that I went out stealing? No, I cannot say that. But nor can I lie. If I tell the truth, everyone will start hating me and call me a thief. I would be punished for stealing."

So the man decided not to steal that night, and gave up this bad habit.

Next day, he felt like drinking wine, when he was about to do so, he said to himself, "What shall I say to the prophet if he asks me what did I do during the day? I cannot tell a lie, and if I speak the truth people will hate me, because a Muslim is not allowed to drink wine." And so he gave up the idea of drinking wine.

In this way, whenever the man thought of doing something bad, he remembered his promise to tell the truth at all times. One by one, he gave up all his bad habits and became a good Muslim and a very good person.

The _story _of _a _man _who _made _a _promise _to _tell _the _truth

If you always speak the truth, you can be a good person, a good Muslim whom Allah likes and favors. If Allah - our Creator - is pleased with us, He will reward us with HEAVEN, which is a place of happiness and joy.

Tell the truth even if it leads to your death

The_ Man_who_met _a _righteous _struggling _woman _on _internet

The Main reason i posted this story is  to tell you that we still can use this social media in something which bring us closer to Allah. We can meet people, help people , aid someone, we have to admit there are many great and good things we can use this technology  through it.

It is not my story but it is a true story happen and i believe it will continue to happen. It is a true story which telling you my sisters you have to be strong in the face of struggle and in the face of difficulty knowing that Allah is always hiding something good for you.

it is a story to tell us men that we need to protect our sisters from our selves , we need to stay strong in the face of shitan , and always have a clear intention towards others and try to aid them not to use them.

I saw her. Mashaa'Allaah she was looking stunning not through her pictures but her profile. Yeah, with curiosity I went through her profile. She was a Face - veiled woman [Niqaabi]

After well checked, I sent her a friend request and sent her a message. I started my conversation with Salaam and asking her about her health, life and what does she doing.

I noticed she was avoiding me. I insisted. She avoid me again but I was so persistent that I made her replied my salam.

To my Surprise, When I asked her if she will chat with me tomorrow.. She said “NO”
I had several questions in my mind but I asked her reason. She replied the same answer again which is: NO. THIS IS BAD and forbidden.

I sat quietly and began to think.

Soubhan'Allaah, I am a stranger to her. She could have been led to me easily specially in this fitnah world with all these temptations but She, keep in mind her fear of [GOD- Taqwa], combat and struggle against Satan’s traps and protected herself. I apologized to her and cancel my friend request.
Then I supplicate to Allaah:

“All Praise be to YOU, O Allaah

Just like this Muslim woman have protected herself from me and from Satan’s traps..Likewise Protect my woman whom you’ve made for me from all the men who approaches her with envious purposes until we meet. And Reward immensely the Muslim woman who struggled and said NO to me.”
Ameen”..

It is  a very important question for me and almost for all Muslims, women are vital element in our life, we depend on them we count on them to pass our days. I like to say that women are consider the shield that protect us daily.
The_best _of _all _Women

Behind any successful man you can find a women who supported him during his hard life, made him focus in his work or his field. I would like to believe that woman is number two after Allah  in any success a man can achieve. Here  I am not talking about wives here I am talking about women in general Mothers, wives, sisters and daughters.

Now, no one can answer this question who are the best women better than our Prophet peace be upon him. Abū Hurayrah (may Allāh be pleased with him) narrated that the Prophet ﷺ was asked:
❞أي النساء خير؟❝

❝Which is the best of women?❞
The Prophet ﷺ replied:
❞التي تسره إذ نظر، وتطيعه إذا أمر، ولا تخالفه في نفسها وماله بما يكره.❝

❝The one who makes (her husband) pleased when he looks at her, and she obeys him when he orders her (to do something), and she does not differ with him (i.e disobey him) with regards to her self or his wealth by (doing) that which he dislikes.❞
[Reported by al-Nasā'ī - Hadīth Sahīh]

3 unique attributes are extracted from this narration:

  • Her commitment to the Dīn, her character, her behavior and her appearance all make him pleased and delighted.
  • She strives to please him by obeying him, as long as it does not result in disobedience to her Creator.
  • She always makes sure to protect her self by preserving her honor/chastity and his wealth/property while he is away from her.

The best of all Women

I want to start this topic with The Holy Quran
The Holy Quran says,
“And marry those among you who are single and those who are fit among your male slaves and your female slaves; if they are needy, Allah will make them free from want out of His grace; and Allah is Ample-giving, Knowing.” (Surah an-Nur, 24:32)

Marriage is so much more than love and romance. In Islam, marriage is a social and legal relationship intended to strengthen and extend family relationships. Islamic marriage begins with a search for an appropriate partner and is solemnized with an agreement of marriage, the contract, and the wedding party. Islam is a strong advocate of marriage, and the act of marriage is considered a religious duty through which the social unit—the family—is established. Islamic marriage is the only permissible way for men and women to engage in intimacy.
The Unbreakable Bond Between Couples

the new couple settles into life as husband and wife. In an Islamic marriage, the relationship is characterized by safety, comfort, love, and mutual rights and responsibilities. In Islamic marriage, a couple makes obeying Allah the focus of their relationship: The couple must remember that they are brothers and sisters in Islam, and all of the rights and duties of Islam also apply to their marriage.

  • A couple struggles together to cope when there is a miscarriage, and the loss of love, dreams, and excitement they had for that child.
  • A couple struggles together when the bank account is low, hospital bills from a sick child are stacking up, and more work or a higher salary is hard to come by.
  • A couple struggles together when one of their parents becomes ill, and after years of care, finally returns to our Lord.
  • A couple struggles together through the tantrums of the toddler years, and the storms of trying to keep a close hold on their kids in the teens and young adult years.
  • A couple struggles together when facing the loss of their home, or car, or job and how to recreate stability at a time when there seems to be none.
  • A couple struggles together when one spouse’s iman is low, and their faith is teetering on the edge, while the other strives hard to keep them both at a safe distance away from that same sharp edge and dramatic fall.
  • Marriage is not just about love and romance. It’s also about fulfilling this ayah:
  • “And of His signs is that He created for you from yourselves mates that you may find *tranquillity* in them; and He placed between you affection and mercy. Indeed in that are signs for a people who give thought.” Quran 30:21
  • Love and romance are what surrounds the marriage to make ease in hard times, laughter in the midst of stress, passion at the most ironic times.
  • But it’s depth, the meaning of love, and even romance, should be given so much more depth and value. Hollywood romance doesn’t even come close to this kind of beauty.
  • Love is worth the struggle, and the struggle is beautiful.
Finally i want to share with the four main key of each successful marriage. What are the four main attributes of the marriage of the Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings upon him) and Khadija (may Allah be pleased with her)?

you both must me be honest is the engagement period , you both should tell the truth about your personality, if you meant to be together Allah will guide to improve your selves better and better during this time before the actual life after Nikah.

The Unbreakable Bond Between Couples

you both must support each other starting from day one , as a life you should do your best to offer and rest and joy to your husband. and as a husband you should offer love security and peace to your wife in good and bad times.

your children is your long term investment, the first step is to educate them Islamic. in order to plant the love of Allah and his messenger in them while they are young. your children is the unbreakable bond between both of you. so make them the main project of your life.

I want you to imagine what will be waiting for you if you simply follow your lord words and actually did what his messenger told you to do with other words to be one of the righteous.

First i want to know the Descriptions of Heaven from the Quran.
And give good tidings to those who believe and do righteous deeds that they will have gardens [in Paradise] beneath which rivers flow. Whenever they are provided with a provision of fruit therefrom, they will say, ‘This is what we were provided with before.’ And it is given to them in likeness. And they will have therein purified spouses, and they will abide therein eternally.” (Q. 2:25)

“Indeed, those who have believed and done righteous deeds – their Lord will guide them because of their faith. Beneath them rivers will flow in the Gardens of Pleasure. Their call therein will be, ‘Exalted are You, O Allah,’ and their greeting therein will be, ‘Peace.’ And the last of their call will be, ‘Praise to Allah, Lord of the worlds!’” (Q. 10:9-10)

The_Reward_of _the _Righteous _in _Paradise

“Their Lord gives them good tidings of mercy from Him and approval and of gardens for them wherein is enduring pleasure. [They will be] abiding therein forever. Indeed, Allah has with Him a great reward.” (Q. 9:21-22)

“Those will have gardens of perpetual residence; beneath them rivers will flow. They will be adorned therein with bracelets of gold and will wear green garments of fine silk and brocade, reclining therein on adorned couches. Excellent is the reward, and good is the resting place.” (Q. 18:31)

Allah says : (So, Allah saved them from the evil of that Day, and gave them Nadrah (a light of beauty) and joy.) This is used as a way of eloquence in stating similarity (i.e., two similar things).(So, Allah saved them from the evil of that Day,) meaning, He protects them from that which they fear of it.(and gave them Nadrah (a light of beauty)) meaning, in their faces. (And joy) in their hearts.

Al-Hasan Al-Basri, Qatadah, Abu `Aliyah and Ar-Rabi` bin Anas all stated this. This is similar to Allah's statement, (Some faces that Day will be bright, laughing, rejoicing at good news.) This is because if the heart is happy, then the face will be enlightened. As Ka`b bin Malik said in his lengthy Hadith about Allah's Messenger , whenever he was happy, then his face will be radiant until it will be as if it is a piece of the moon. `A'ishah said, "The Messenger of Allah entered into my home happy and his facial expression was glowing.'' And the Hadith continues.

…the chosen servants of Allah. Those will have a provision determined—fruits; and they will be honored in gardens of pleasure on thrones facing one another. There will be circulated among them a cup from a flowing spring, white and delicious to the drinkers; no bad effect is there in it, nor from it will they be intoxicated.” (Q. 37:40-47)

“[Other] faces, that Day, will show pleasure. With their effort [they are] satisfied. In an elevated garden, wherein they will hear no unsuitable speech. Within it is a flowing spring. Within it are couches raised high and cups put in place and cushions lined up and carpets spread around.” (Q. 88:8-16)

The _Reward _of _the _Righteous _in _Paradise
Allah then says, (And their recompense because they were patient) meaning, due to their patience He will give them, bestow upon them and accommodate them with Paradise and silken garments. This means a home that is spacious, a delightful life and fine clothing. Al-Hafiz Ibn `Asakir said in his biography of Hisham bin Sulayman Ad-Darani, "Surat Al-Insan was recited to Abu Sulayman Ad-Darani, and when the reciter reached the Ayah where Allah says,(And their recompense shall be Paradise, and silken garments, because they were patient.) he (Abu Sulayman) said, `Because they were patient in leaving off their desires in the world.'''

A thousand words are not enough to describe the pleasure of heaven , it contain what no eyes see  and what ear  heard  and what a human heart can not imagine . May Allah make us from the righteous  Ameen

The opposite of Tawheed is Shirk which means in Islamic terminology – the act of associating a partner with Allah.

One of the most important obligations is to know the meaning of shirk, its seriousness and its different types, so that our Tawheed and our Islam may be complete, and our faith may be sound. We say – And Allah is the Source of strength and true guidance comes from Him.

the word shirk in Arabic means taking a partner, i.e., regarding someone as the partner of another. It is said he joined them together when he regarded them as two of equal status; or he introduced another into his affair when he made two people involved in it.

Allah Says
Then do not set up rivals unto Allah (in worship) while you know (that He Alone has the right to be worshiped)” [al-Baqarah 2:22]
And they set up rivals to Allah, to mislead (men) from His path! Say: ‘Enjoy (your brief life)! But certainly, your destination is the (Hell) Fire!.[Ibraaheem 14:30]

In the Hadeth it is narrated that the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: Whoever dies claiming that Allah has a rival, will enter Hell. Narrated by al-Bukhaari, 4497; Muslim, 92.

The texts of the Qur’an and Sunnah indicate that shirk and the ascribing of rivals to Allah sometimes puts a person beyond the pale of Islam and sometimes does not. Hence the scholars divided shirk into two types which they call shirk Akbar (major shirk) and shirk Asghar (minor shirk). There follows a brief description of each type:
  • Ash-Shirk Al-Akbar - Major Polytheism
  • Ash-Shirk Al-Asghar - Minor polytheism
  • Ash-Shirk Al-Khafi - Invisible polytheism
Major Shirk
Major polytheism is to devote any form of worship to anyone other than Allah. Allah will never forgive it, nor will He accept with it any good deeds as Allah the Almighty said in [Qur'an – 4:116]: ''Verily, Allah forgives not (the sin of) setting up partners (in worship) with Him, but He forgives whom He wills sins other than that. And whoever sets up partners in worship with Allah, has indeed strayed far away.''

The Almighty also said in [Qur'an – 5:72]: ''And the Messiah (Jesus) said: 'O Children of Israel! Worship Allah, my Lord and your Lord.' Verily, whosoever sets up partners (in worship) with Allah, then Allah has forbidden Paradise to him and the Fire will be his abode. And for the Zalimun (wrongdoers and polytheists) there are no helpers.''

He, the Almighty, further said in [Qur'an – 25:23]: ''And We shall turn to whatever deed they (disbelievers, polytheists, sinners etc) did, and We shall make such deeds as scattered floating particles of dust.''

The Almighty further said in [Qur'an – 39:65]: ''If you join others in worship with Allah, (then) surely, (all) your deeds will be in vain, and you will certainly be among the losers.''

He, the Almighty, also said in [Qur'an – 6:88]:''And if they had joined in worship others with Allah, all that they used to do would have been of no benefit to them.''
The major polytheism (Shirk Al-Akbar) has four sub categories Polytheism in invocation (i.e. supplicating to other than Allah), as He the Almighty said in [Qur'an – 29:65]: ''And when they embark on a ship, they invoke Allah, making their Faith pure for Him only; but when He brings them safely to land, behold, they give a share of their worship to others.''

Polytheism in intention, will and purpose, as it states in [Qur'an – 11:15, 16]:''Whosoever desires the life of the world and its glitter, to them We shall pay in full (the wages of) their deeds therein and they will have no diminution therein. They are those for whom there is nothing in the Hereafter but the Fire, and vain are the deeds they did therein. And of no effect is that which they used to do.''

Polytheism in obedience (i.e. showing readiness to comply with the orders of others in disobedience to Allah): Evidence is Allah's Statement in [Qur'an – 9:31]: ''They (Jews and Christians) took their rabbis and their monks to be their lords besides Allah, (by obeying them in things that they made lawful or unlawful according to their own desires without being ordered by Allah), and (they also took as their Lord) Messiah, son of Mary, while they (Jews and Christians) were commanded (in the Torah and the Gospel) to worship none but One Ilah (God – Allah), none has the right to be worshipped but He. Glorified is He (far above is He) from having the partners they associate.''Its interpretation undoubtedly refers to the obedience of religious scholars (Ulama) and other people of knowledge in disobedience to Allah, and not supplicating to them. As the Prophet (Sall Allahu Alayhi Wasalam) explained to Adi Ibn Hatim (R.A) that worship here meant obedience to them in their sinful acts.

Polytheism in love (i.e. showing love to others which is due to Allah alone), as Allah said in [Qur'an – 2:165]: ''And of mankind are some who take (for worship) others besides Allah as rivals (to Allah); they love them as they love Allah.''

Minor
Shirk
This includes everything that may lead to major shirk, or which is described in the texts as being shirk, but does not reach the extent of being major shirk.

This is usually of two types:
1 – Being emotionally attached to some means which have no basis and  for which Allaah has not given permission, such as hanging up “hands”, turquoise beads etc on the grounds that they offer protection or that they ward off the evil eye. But Allaah has not made them the means of such protection, either according to sharee’ah or according to the laws of the universe.

[Translator’s note: the “hands” referred to are objects made of metal, pottery etc, usually blue or turquoise in color, that some people hang up to ward off the evil eye, according to their mistaken belief]

2 – Venerating some people or things in a way that does not go so far as ascribing lordship to them, such as swearing by something other than Allah, or saying, “Were it not for Allah and So and so,” etc.

Minor shirk may sometimes take the form of outward actions, such as wearing talismans, strings, amulets and the like, and other words and deeds. And sometimes it may be hidden, like a little bit of showing off.

It may also take the form of beliefs:
Such as the belief that something may be a cause of bringing benefit or warding off harm, when Allaah has not made it so; or believing that there is barakah (blessing) in a thing, when Allaah has not made it so.

It sometimes takes the form of words:
Such as when they said, “We have been given rain by such and such a star,” without believing that that the stars could independently cause rain to fall; or swearing by something other than Allaah, without believing in venerating the thing sworn by or regarding it as equal with Allaah; or saying, “Whatever Allaah wills and you will,” and so on.

It sometimes takes the form of actions:
Such as hanging up amulets or wearing a talisman or string to dispel or ward off calamity, because everyone who attribute powers to a thing when Allaah has not made it so either according to sharee’ah or according to the laws of the universe, has associated something with Allaah. This also applies to one who touches a thing seeking its barakah (blessing), when Allaah has not created any barakah in it, such as kissing the doors of the mosques, touching their thresholds, seeking healing from their dust, and other such actions.
The minor polytheism is Riya' (showing off), as Allah says in [Qur'an – 18:110]: ''So whoever hopes for the meeting with his Lord, let him work righteousness and associate none as a partner in the worship of his Lord.''

Invisible Shirk
The invisible polytheism was explained by the Prophet (Sall Allahu Alayhi Wasalam): ''The invisible polytheism in this Ummah is more hidden than the track of a black ant on a black stone in a dark night.''

This is a brief look at the division of shirk .We cannot go into great detail in this short article.

What the Muslim must do is to avoid shirk in both its minor and major forms. The greatest sin is shirk and transgression against the unique rights of Allaah, which are to be worshipped and obeyed alone, with no partner or associate.

Hence Allah has decreed that the mushrikeen will abide forever in Hell and has told us that He will not forgive them, and He has forbidden Paradise to them, as He says (interpretation of the meaning):

“Verily, Allah forgives not that partners should be set up with Him (in worship), but He forgives except that (anything else) to whom He wills; and whoever sets up partners with Allaah in worship, he has indeed invented a tremendous sin” [al-Nisa’ 4:48]

“Verily, whosoever sets up partners (in worship) with Allaah, then Allaah has forbidden Paradise to him, and the Fire will be his abode. And for the Zaalimoon (polytheists and wrongdoers) there are no helpers”[al-Maa'idah 5:72]

Every wise and religiously-committed person should fear shirk for himself and should turn to his Lord, asking Him to help him avoid shirk, as al-Khaleel [Ibraaheem – peace be upon him] said:
“and keep me and my sons away from worshipping idols”
[Ibraaheem 14:35 – interpretation of the meaning]
One of the salaf said: “Who can claim to be safe from this after Ibraaheem?”

So the sincere believer’s fear of shirk should increase as should his desire for his for his Lord to keep him away from it, and he should say the great du’aa’ which the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) taught to his companions when he said to them: “Shirk among you will be more subtle than the footsteps of an ant, but I will teach you something which, if you do it, both minor and major shirk will be kept away from you. Say: Allaahumma inni a’oodhu bika an ushrika bika wa ana a’lam wa astaghfiruka lima la a’lam (O Allaah, I seek refuge with You from associating anything with You knowingly, and I seek Your forgiveness for that of which I am unaware).” Classed as saheeh by al-Albaani in Saheeh al-Jaami’, 3731

The above refers to the difference between major and minor shirk, defining each and describing its types. with regard to the difference between them as far as the ruling is concerned:

Major shirk puts a person beyond the pale of Islam, so the one who does that is judged to be out of Islam and to have apostatized therefrom, so he is a kaafir and an apostate.

Minor shirk does not put a person beyond the pale of Islam, rather it may be done by a Muslim but he still remains in Islam; but the one who does that is in great danger because minor shirk is a major sin. Ibn Mas’ood (may Allaah be pleased with him) said: “If I were to swear by Allaah falsely, that is better for me than if I were to swear by something other than Him sincerely.” So he regarded swearing by something other than Allaah (which is minor shirk) as being worse than swearing by Allaah falsely, and it is well known that swearing by Allaah falsely is a major sin.

We ask Allaah to make our hearts steadfast in adhering to His religion until we meet Him, and we seek refuge in His Might – may He be glorified – from going astray, for He is the Ever-Living Who never dies, but the jinn and mankind will die. And Allaah knows best and is most wise, and to Him is the final return of all.

Its expiation according to the Prophet's saying is: ''O Allah! Verily I seek refuge with You against ascribing partners to You knowingly; and I beg Your forgiveness for the sin which I do not know.''

May Allah the Almighty protect us all from associating partners with Him.
