Sheikh Muhammad ibn Salih al-Uthaimeen رحمه الله تعالى said:

"The more people increase in comfort and luxury and the more they open up before the people [with the Dunya], the more evils will open up before them. It is comfort and luxury that destroys a person. Because if a person was to concern himself with comfort and luxury and providing enjoyment to his body, he will become negligent of providing enjoyment to his heart, and his greatest worry will become providing enjoyment to this body that is doomed to become worms and rotten.

This is the ordeal, and this is what has harmed people today. You can hardly find anyone except that they say: "What is our palace? What is our car? What is our furniture? What is our food?" Even those who study [Islaamic] knowledge, some of them only study in order to gain rank or status to reach the blessings of the Dunya. As if man was not created for a significant purpose. The Dunya and its blessings are only a means, nothing more. We ask Allaah to make us and you use it as a means.

Ibn Taimiyyah رحمه الله تعالى said: "A person should use money as he uses a donkey to ride, and as he uses the toilet to relieve himself."
These are the ones who know money and its value. So do not make money your greatest worry, rather ride on money, for if you do not ride on it, it will ride on you, and your worry will become the Dunya.

The effect of Comforts and Luxuries on Muslims lives

For this, we say, that the more the Dunya opens up before the people, and they end up concerning themselves with it, they will lose as much of the Akhira as they have gained from the Dunya.

The Prophet صلى الله عليه و سلم said: "By Allaah, I am not afraid of your poverty," meaning I am not afraid of poverty for you, for the Dunya will open up before you, "but I am afraid that you will lead a life of luxury as past nations did, whereupon you will compete with each other for it, as they competed for it, and it will destroy you as it destroyed them." [Bukhari & Muslim].

The Messenger صلى الله عليه و سلم spoke the truth. This is what has destroyed the people today. What has destroyed the people today, is their competing with one another for the Dunya, and them being as if they were only created for it, and not it created for them. So they have preoccupied themselves with what was created for them over what they were created for. This is backwardness. We ask Allaah for protection."

FIQH OF PRAYER: CLOSING THE EYES DURING THE PRAYER?
Written by Abu Muadh Taqweem Aslam on November 15, 2012. Posted in Fatawa-Rulings, Islamic Jurisprudence - 'Fiqh', Salaah - Prayer, Worship - 'Ibaadah'

 بسم الله الرحمن الرحيم

Q: What is the ruling on closing the eyes during the prayer?

A: Closing the eyes during the prayer is disliked, that is due to it being in opposition to what the prophet صلى الله عليه و سلم would do.

Why you should not close your eyes during prayer

An exception may be made in the presence of a legitimate reason, e.g. if there was excessive decoration and embellishment in front of the one praying on the wall or floor [perhaps creating difficulty in concentration], or there was a very bright light directly in front of him harming his eyes.

The point therefore is, that if there is a legitimate reason to close the eyes then there is no harm, however without any such reason it is disliked, and further details on the topic can be sought from the great work of ibn ul-Qayyim “Zaad al-Ma’ad” [Provisions of the Hereafter]”

[Based on Shaikh ibn ul-Uthaymeen’s response to the issue, Fatawa Arkaan ul-Islam p341]

Ms. Ashley, 28, converted in 2007 after she noticed her colleagues praying at work and began to ask questions about Islam.

One of her co-workers told her to Google the most influential person in the world, and the search results came back with pages on the Prophet Mohammed.
Ms Ashley why i converted to Islam

"I am spending Eid with Muslim girlfriends, taking a road trip or traveling somewhere," says Ms. Ashley, who works for the Sheikh Mohammed Centre for Cultural Understanding and volunteers for the Palestinian Children's Relief Fund.

Growing up in a ski resort town in Canada meant she had little knowledge of Islam before she arrived in Dubai in 2006.

"Many thought I was crazy because they had negative images of the Middle East but I didn't listen," Ms. Ashley says.

"Islam is a simple way of life for all mankind and not just for Arabs. I want people to know how wonderfully women are treated and many other positive things."

Abortion is forbidden in Islam whether it be in the earlier stages of pregnancy or otherwise.

What Islam say about Abortion.First of all, let me remind all of us that we cannot obey ANYONE when it comes to any disobedience to ALLAH. What I mean is if your husband or parents request you to do something which goes against ALLAH and HIS MESSENGER, you must decline by reminding them about what ALLAH and HIS Messenger said. That's the command of ALLAH and HIS MESSENGER.

Abortion is forbidden in Islam whether it be in the earlier stages of pregnancy or otherwise. The extent of sin incurred varies according to the stage of pregnancy, so that less sin would be incurred if the abortion took place during the early stages, while it becomes increasingly haram (unlawful) as the pregnancy advances. When the pregnancy reaches 120 days old, abortion becomes totally forbidden and is deemed a form of murder that results in compensation becoming liable.

This compensation is equal in value to 213 grams of gold, and it is given to the heir who did not participate in the abortion (i.e., brother/sister or grandparent(s), etc., according to the laws of inheritance).

However, the only condition under which abortion is allowed is when there is an actual threat to the life of the mother confirmed by an official medical report that if the pregnancy advances any further, the mother may die.

“While Islam permits preventing pregnancy for valid reasons, it does not allow doing violence to it once it occurs.

Muslim jurists have agreed unanimously that after the fetus is completely formed and has been given a soul, abortion is haram. It is also a crime, the commission of which is prohibited to the Muslim because it constitutes an offense against a complete, living human being. Jurists insist that the payment of blood money (diya) becomes incumbent if the baby is aborted alive and then died, while a fine of lesser amount is to be paid if it is aborted dead.

However, there is one exceptional situation. If, say the jurists, after the baby is completely formed, it is reliably shown that the continuation of the pregnancy would necessarily result in the death of the mother, then, in accordance with the general principle of the Shari`ah, that of choosing the lesser of two evils, abortion must be performed. The reason for this is that the mother is the origin of the fetus; moreover, her life is well-established, with duties and responsibilities, and she is also a pillar of the family. It would not be possible to sacrifice her life for the life of a fetus which has not yet acquired a personality and which has no responsibilities or obligations to fulfill.

Imam al-Ghazzali makes a clear distinction between contraception and abortion, saying that contraception is not like abortion. Abortion is a crime against an existing being. It follows from this that there are stages of existence. The first stages of existence are the settling of the semen in the womb and its mixing with the secretions of the woman. Then come the next gestational stage.

Disturbing the pregnancy at this stage is a crime. When it develops further and becomes a lump, aborting it is a greater crime. When it acquires a soul and its creation is completed, the crime becomes more grievous. The crime reaches a maximum seriousness when it is committed after it (the fetus) is separated (from the mother) alive.”   *_May ALLAH keep guiding us all and protect us from any satanic influences_*. This Hadith found in Bukhari and many others Hadith's in many numbers of times that describes the importance of this hadith.

Narrated Ibn 'Umar (RA). Prophet Muhammad (salallahualahiwasallam) said:-

"Amongst the trees, there is a tree, the leaves of which do not fall and is like a Muslim. Tell me the name of that tree." Everybody started thinking about the trees of the desert areas. And I thought of the date-palm tree but felt shy to answer the others companions of Prophet then asked, "What is that tree, O Allah's Apostle (salallahualahiwasallam) ?
" He replied, "It is the date-palm tree."
Commentary:

Ibn Umar(Ra), when he was just a young boy, says that one day he was sitting with senior Sahaba al Kiram; Rasulullah (Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam) asked the Sahaba, "which tree is like a Muslim and whose leaves do not fall?" The senior Sahaba could not immediately guess about this tree, Ibn Umar(Ra) says that though he was young, he thought that it was the date tree but he did not dare to open his mouth in presence of senior Sahaba, (Ra) then Rasulullah (Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam) himself told them that it was the date tree.

Similarities between a Muslim and the date tree...Many Ulema have suggested many similarities , such as .,Both are straight and upright and resemble in Istiqamat (استقامت) (Enduringness) Both have very deep roots, the roots of the faith ofa Muslim (إيمان) are very deep in his Qalb (Heart).
Important Hadith Which tree is like a Muslim ?

other Reports:- It is reported in Tirmidhi , Nasai and Ibn Hibban on the authority of Anas (Ra) that once Rasulullah (Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam) recited the verse:-
كَلِمَةً طَيِّبَةً كَشَجَرَةٍ طَيِّبَةٍ أَصْلُهَا ثَابِتٌ وَفَرْعُهَا فِي السَّمَاءِ
A goodly word as a goodly tree, whose root is firmly fixed, and its branches (reach) to the sky (14:24)...!!!

Then he (Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam) said, "it is date tree".

Each and every part of a date tree is useful, like its fruits, both ripe as well as unripe, Giving its fruit at all times, It is said that it means by day and by night. And they say that describes the believer as a tree that always has fruits during summer and winter, by night and by day. This is the parable of the believer whose good works ascend to heaven by day and by night and at all times,Dates can be consumed in both fresh and dried forms.leaves and stemetc.

It is also used for medicinal purposes,it leaves is also used for shade, even with his dry leaves it is used for creating pots, baskits, and the bottom of the huts.

Similarly every state of a Muslim is useful for him.His eating, drinking, sleeping, walking, earning livelihood are all counted as worship, hence useful for him. Some say that both have male and female genders. Some say that the date tree resembles a man because if its upper part is cut it becomes dead. Some say that both have the attribute of love.

On the other hand we have came to know that The teacher should test his students By getting this Hadith.

the teacher prophet Muhammad (salallahualahiwasallam) should off and on test with his students (companions), put questions before them in a little difficult way. By this the teacher gets an idea of the capability of his students.

Sometimes a junior knows more than his senior.Ibn Umar(Ra) was just ten years old that time and he thought about the right answer whereas it did not strike the senior companions (Ra).

When we departed, after listening to the Hadith I (Ibn Umar) said to his father Umar(Ra), by Allah! I thought that it was the date tree.'
He said, `Why did you not speak then?'

I said, `I saw you were silent and I felt shy to say anything.'
Umar said, `Had you said it, it would have been more precious to me than such things (i.e.,if whole Camels of Arab put on one side and your answer on one side).'' your answer is more beloved to me my son.
From this single Hadith's we get to know the basis of other  different Hadith's such as:-Narrated Sa'd bin Abi Waqqas(Ra):- Allah's Apostle (salallahualahiwasallam)said, "You will be rewarded for whatever you spend for Allah's sake even if it were
a morsel which you put in your wife's mouth."

Narrated Abu Mas'ud(Ra):- The Prophet (salallahualahiwasallam)said, "If a man spends on his family
(with the intention of having a reward from Allah) sincerely for Allah's sake then it is a (kind of) alms-giving in reward for him.

Aa’ishah (may Allah be pleased with her), narrated that Prophet (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) said:- “Nothing befalls a believer, a(prick of a) thorn or more than that, but Allah will raise him one degree in status thereby, or erase a bad deed.”

The Messenger of Allah(sallallahu 'alayhi wa sallam) said:-,"Strange is the affair of the mu'min (the believer) verily all his affairs are good for him. If something pleasing befalls him he thanks (Allah) and it becomes better for him. And if something harmful befalls him he is patient (sabir) and it becomes better for him. And this is only for the mu'min."
(All are Narrated by al-Bukhaari)

Abu Dharr(Ra) narrated that some people from among the companions of the Prophet (peace andblessings of Allaah be upon him) said to the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him):-“O Messenger of Allaah, the rich people will get more reward. They pray as we pray, and theyfast as we fast, but they give in charity from their excess wealth.” He said, “Has not Allaah given you things with which you can give charity? Every tasbeehah
saying ‘Subhaan Allaah (Glory be to Allaah)’ is a charity. Every Takbeerah saying ‘Allaahu akbar(Allaah is Most Great) is a charity.

EveryTahmeedah saying ‘Al-hamdu-Lillaah(praise be to Allaah)’ is a charity. Every Tahleelah saying ‘Laa ilaaha ill-Allaah(there is no god but Allaah) is a charity. Enjoining what is good is a charity. Forbidding what is evil is a charity. Having intercourse (with one’s wife) is a charity.” They said, “O Messenger of Allaah, if one of us fulfils his desire, is there reward in that?” He said, “Do you not see that if he does it in a haraam way he will havethe burden of sin? So if he does it in a halaal way, he will have a reward for that.”.
Ref:- (Narrated by Muslim).

#Narrated that ‘Ali (may Allaah be pleased with him) said:-I heard the Messenger of Allaah (peaceand blessings of Allaah be upon him) say:- “There is no Muslim who visits a (sick) Muslim early in the morning but seventy thousand angels send blessings upon him until evening comes, and if he visits him in the evening, seventy thousand angels send blessings upon him until morning comes, and he will have a garden in Paradise.”
Ref:- (al-Tirmidhi)...!!!

#Abu Dharr (Ra) narrated that the Messenger of Allah (salallahualahiwasallam)said :-"Your smiling in the face of your brother is charity, commanding good and forbidding evil is charity, your giving directions to a man lost in the land is charity for you. Your seeing for a man with bad sight and helping him by giving direction is a charity for you, your removal of a rock, a thorn or a bone from the road is charity for you. Your pouring what remains from your bucket into the bucket of your brother is charity for you."
Ref:-(al-Trimidhi).

conclusion :- Permissible actions may become acts of worship, if there is a sincere intention behind it to be done only for the sake of Allah and according to the Shariah(religious law) and by  following Qur'an and Sunna (lifestyle) of prophet Muhammad(salallahualahiwasallam) we can get innumerable reward from Allah (subhanahowatala) in every way such as Eating, Drinking, keeping the family ties of kinship, smiling, Islamic greetings, spending on children's and wife, taking cares of one's parents, having patience in adverse situations, thanking Allah on getting some blessings and also enjoin what is good and forbid what is evil.... All these things also done by disbelievers but they don't get reward from almighty Allah(subhanahowatala) but being a Muslims Alhamdulillahi we get a tons of reward from almighty Allah (subhanahowatala) and it helps in building our Akhira (hearafter) and to achieve our final goal (destination) jannah.
Thanks for reading!
share it to your dear ones so they could attain reward by knowing being a Muslims is the greatest bounty of Allah subhanahowatala.

From when I was a child, so many things in Christianity did not made sense to me

From when I was a child, so many things in Christianity did not made sense to me. Keep in mind, I am the granddaughter of a Pentecostal preacher, so the church and Jesus was drilled into my brain. I remember asking my bible teacher at 7-years-old, Why do we celebrate the birth of Christ on December 25th? (When I asked this question, I recently learned  from watching national geographic, that It was scientifically proven that Jesus was not born on Christmas.)

I also asked like, how is the holy trinity one person and why was the trinity created long after Jesus died? why do we pray to Jesus and not God?

When I was about 14, I stopped praying to Jesus and prayed directly to God. When I was around people and family members who would say "dear Jesus, thank you for this and that." I would say under my breath, "Dear God." I would feel bad that people were not praying directly to God.

Aside from this, I was really active in the church, I didn't only go to church on holidays. I read the bible, taught at vacation bible school, sang at church. I was also in a church youth group. I went went to a church leadership camp every summer up until I graduated high school.

Granddaughter of A Pentecostal Preacher Converts to Islam

Still, if you would have told me when I was 16 I would be a Muslim in the future, I would never believe you. Before I went to college, I thought all of the bad and stereotypical things about Muslims, since I never met one. The only thing that I knew about Muslims is what I saw on the news.

When I went to college, I then started to meet many people different from different cultures and religions. Many of my friends were Muslim and were so nice. Since I was very close minded, when I first went to college, these people really opened my eyes. I remember saying to myself, "there is no way these people could be so nice and be Muslim." I wanted to prove that they "were the good ones" and that their religion was as bad as the media said.

The first thing that sparked me to really start looking into Islam was when one of my friends said, "we have very similar religions and the same prophets." They told me the story of prophet Noah and the ark. I said, "we have the same story in the bible."

So, I started looking into the religion by researching the similarities between Judaism, Christianity, and Islam. I practiced praying and fasting, my second year in college, just to try it out. I wanted to really experience life through my friend's eyes.

Then I decided myself, to read the Quran. I was at a fellow converts house for Iftar (break fast during Ramadan) and I asked her if I could borrow her Quran, to read. Later that night, I opened the Quran after i got home, I started reading it, and my heart became full of love and I saw the light of God calling me to Islam. It is a feeling I cannot even explain.

This was during Ramadan of 2013. I didn't have interest in converting when I read that Quran. I didn't convert right away because that would be a huge step for me, with what my family and friends would say. It took me 6 months after the first time I read the Quran, for me to take shahada (my declaration of faith). I tried to get people to come with me to a mosque to say the shahadah but no one would come. So, after I converted, only a few people knew about it. I was too scared to tell my parents.

admitting it was the last religion she thought she’d take up when she started exploring her spirituality.

SUSAN Carland has opened up in a new interview about her conversion to Islam, admitting it was the last religion she thought she’d take up when she started exploring her spirituality.

Speaking in the July issue of The Australian Women’s Weekly, the media personality and wife of this year’s Gold Logie winner Waleed Aly detailed her decision to become a Muslim.

Raised a Christian, she switched to the Baptist Church as a teenager but found that didn’t satisfy her quest for spiritual exploration.

At 17, she started to question her religious beliefs.“Was it because I genuinely believed it to be true or was it because it was what I was raised to believe?” she recalled.
Susan Carland journey to islam

As she explored different religions, Carland was at first adamant Islam was not of interest. “I thought, why would anyone want to be part of a barbaric, outdated, sexist religion?”

Two years later, at the age of 19, she became a Muslim. In those two years, she’d immersed herself in books and joined a Muslim women’s group at university to make sure the religion was right for her.“I found the emphasis on social justice appealing; I noticed there was a real concern for the vulnerable people in society,” she said.

Converting did pose its own set of challenges — Carland said her mother had “hesitations,” but things are “great” between the pair now.

Carland converted to Islam pre-9/11, and has now watched her religion become closely linked to global terrorism in many people’s perceptions.

“Ninety-nine per cent of what people see about Muslims in the media is negative,” she says. “As consumers, we need to be switched on.”

Carland has her own way of fighting religious prejudice: In October last year, she tweeted that she would donate $1 to charity for “each hate-filled tweet I get from trolls”. There were plenty.

So far, she’s donated about $4000 to UNICEF, along with the message: “The needy children thank you, haters!”

Accepting his Gold Logie award last month, Carland’s husband was quick to shower her with praise.
“If she had my job she’d be much better at it than me,” he said.

“She’s sharper, wittier, funnier and infinitely more charming and likeable and I’m really glad she doesn’t have my job because otherwise I definitely wouldn’t have it.”

Then she (Aisha) would say (to the women), ‘Eat from it for indeed I heard the Messenger of Allah [peace be upon him] say: “Talbinah is a relaxation for the heart of the sick person and it removes some of the sorrow”.’ [Bukhari 479/9, Book of Food, Chapter of Talbinah]

I finally have a peace I didn’t have in Christianity, I know what I believe, who I am, and how I want my life to reflect on this.

Almost immediately after logging onto Facebook and posting that she had converted to Islam, April Fuller was bombarded with messages, from both her close friends and acquaintances.

“Why did I expect anything less,” Fuller’s former youth pastor wrote. “I am an infidel according to your cult so therefore I am your enemy. Such a shame you have chosen to turn your back on a loving God and serve a false prophet who preaches hate for anyone not of said cult.”

But an old childhood friend offered congratulations. “I know a lot of people and ‘friends’ are giving you hell about this. It’s your decision. I hope it works out for you sweetie.”

Fuller’s uncle was a pastor in a Southern Baptist church, the largest religion in the state, in the 1,500-person town of Raleigh. Although her family has long been strict adherents, Fuller was drawn to Islam because, for her, it was the first time religion made sense.

“I always grew up believing in something, so I knew there was a god,” Fuller, a sophomore English major, said. “I was just trying to figure out what I wanted to be, but I knew Baptist wasn’t for me.”
The second semester of her freshman year, Fuller was introduced to another student, a practicing Muslim, through a mutual friend. They quickly became friends, and he began to teach her about Islam.
“I started talking to my friend, and he was telling more about it, and I thought this kinda makes sense,” Fuller said. “In Islam, you use logic; in Christianity you have to go on blind faith. A lot of times, when I tried to question Christian beliefs, I was shut down. With Islam, they welcome doubts and attempt to dispel them.”

According to the Council on American-Islamic relations, “Muslims believe in One, Unique, and Incomparable God. They believe in the Day of Judgement and individual accountability for actions.” There are about 7 million Muslims in America, and according to the Foreign Policy Group, Islam is the second largest and fastest growing religion in the world. According to the Association of Religion Data Archives, there are about 4,000 Muslims in Mississippi.
Fuller said she knew her conversion would receive some mixed opinions, but she did not expect the amount of backlash she received on Facebook. While most of her college friends took the change in stride, the older generation had a problem with it.

“My heart is sad for the teenage girl I admired so much in church,” a member of Fuller’s former church posted on her wall. “You were such an inspiration to all the teenagers who saw you stand up for what you believed and not ashamed to be a Christian. Don’t be a stumbling block April to all these young souls.”

Although many of April’s friends at school have largely congratulated her, her grandfather was not nearly as accepting.
“A few days after I came out as Muslim, he called me to ask if I was going to be blowing up any buildings soon,” Fuller said.
While her dad’s side of the family has yet to come around, her mom’s side has openly embraced the change.

“My mom has always encouraged me to follow my heart, and this is no different,” Fuller said. “She educates herself on what I believe, can eat and all that so that she can understand what I’m going through and how she can best help me.”

Any friends that Fuller may have lost, she has more than made up. She joined the Muslim Student Association (where she is also the director of women affairs) at Ole Miss, which, according to Fuller, provides a place where she can be herself. The organization, made up mostly of full-time undergraduate and graduate students, has offered Fuller a new home.

“I love all my friends, don’t get me wrong,” Fuller said. “But since I joined the Muslim Student Association, I have a close group that I can talk about Islam with, as well as a group that won’t pressure me to do anything that goes against Islam.”

Since converting, Fuller has defied the Ole Miss student stereotype. She does not drink, keeping her away from the Square and frat parties, and did not visit the Grove for a single football game last season. Her hijab, a piece of clothing that covers the hair and neck, keeps her in more modest clothing choices (such as not showing ankles, hair, etc.) and not the oversized t-shirts and Nike shorts that Ole Miss girls are known for. As there is no mosque in Oxford, she travels to Memphis with a group every Sunday for worship, while still performing the mandatory five daily prayers.
After everything is said and done, Fuller says she would still make the decision to convert again.

“I finally have a peace I didn’t have in Christianity, I know what I believe, who I am, and how I want my life to reflect on this. For the first time, I actually feel like I know what I’m doing. It’s strange; I found peace in a religion where many only see hate.”

Allah says to this Ummah:
(He (Allah) has ordained for you the same religion which He ordained for Nuh, and that which We have revealed to you,) Allah mentions the first Messenger who was sent after Adam, that is, Nuh, peace be upon them, and the last of them is Muhammad. Then He mentions those who came in between them who were the Messengers of strong will, namely Ibrahim, Musa and `Isa bin Maryam. This Ayah mentions all five, just as they are also mentioned in the Ayah in Surat Al-Ahzab, where Allah says:

(And (remember) when We took from the Prophets their covenant, and from you, and from Nuh, Ibrahim, Musa, and `Isa son of Maryam.) (33:7).
The Religion of the Messengers is One
The Message which all the Messengers brought was to worship Allah Alone, with no partner or associate, as Allah says:
(And We did not send any Messenger before you but We revealed to him (saying): None has the right to be worshipped but I, so worship Me.) (21:25).
And according to a Hadith (the Prophet said):
(We Prophets are brothers and our religion is one.)
In other words, the common bond between them is that Allah Alone is to be worshipped, with no partner or associate, even though their laws and ways may differ, as Allah says.

(To each among you, We have prescribed a law and a clear way) (5:48).
Allah says here:
(saying you should establish religion and make no divisions in it.)
meaning, Allah enjoined all the Prophets (peace and blessings of Allah be upon them all) to be as one and He forbade them to differ and be divided.

(Intolerable for the idolators is that to which you call them.)
Means, `it is too much for them to bear, and they hate that to which you call them, O Muhammad, i.e., Tawhid.'
(Allah chooses for Himself whom He wills, and guides unto Himself who turns to Him in repentance.)
Means, He is the One Who decrees guidance for those who deserve it, and decrees misguidance for those who prefer it to the right path. Allah says here;
(And they divided not till after knowledge had come to them,)
Means, their opposition to the truth arose after it had come to them and proof had been established against them. Nothing made them resist in this manner except their transgression and stubbornness.

(And had it not been for a Word that went forth before from your Lord for an appointed term,) means, were it not for the fact that Allah had already decreed that He would delay the reckoning of His servants until the Day of Resurrection, the punishment would have been hastened for them in this world.

(And verily, those who were made to inherit the Scripture after them,) means, the later generation which came after the earlier generation which had rejected the truth.

(are in grave doubt concerning it. ) means, they do not have any firm conviction in matters of religion; they merely imitate their forefathers, without any evidence or proof. So they are very confused and doubtful.

Nothing Will Beffall Us Except What Allah Has Decreed For Us. Allah Is The Only Protector And Guardian For Us.We Must Place Our Trust In Allah And Totally Rely On Him Alone!
Allah said in the Qur’an
“Say: ‘Nothing will befall us except what Allah has decreed for us. He is our Guardian. In Allah alone should the believers place their trust.’” [Al-Qur’an : Surah Al-Tawbah 9:51]

Allah Is The Only Protector And Guardian For Us.

Allah has promised the Muslims eventual victory. Therefore whatever hardship they are made to suffer, and however hard their test appears to be, they are being prepared for their promised victory.

The believers will certainly have their victory after they have passed their test. It will come by the means Allah has ordained so that it is treated as a valuable, not a cheap, victory.

Thus, the Muslims will defend their position of honour, ready to give any sacrifice for it. It is Allah, who gives help and grants victory.

To believe in Allah’s will and to rely on Him totally are in no way contradictory with making all the necessary preparations.

Placing one’s trust in Allah truly means carrying out His orders, taking all necessary precautions, and understanding the laws He has set into operation without allowing them to deviate from their respective courses in order to please any human being.

Allah Is The Only Protector And Guardian For Us.

This is a must read story of Zainab bint Muhammad, the eldest daughter of the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) and Khadijah (may Allah be pleased with her). The story shows the importance of having a great Patience in Islam.

Abu al-’As ibn Rabi’ was the husband of Zainab and was loved by Prophet Muhammad (pbuh) very much. One day Abu al-’As ibn Rabi’ went to the Prophet (pbuh) before he had received his mission of Prophethood and said: “I want to marry your eldest daughter”. So the Prophet(pbuh) replied: “I must ask her first”. He went to Zainab and asked her: “Your cousin came to me and he wishes to marry you, do you accept him as your husband?” Her face turned red with bashfulness and she smiled.

So Zainab married him, the beginning of a great love story! They had two children; Ali and Omama. Then Muhammad ibn Abdullahi became a Prophet of Allah while Abu al-’As ibn Rabi’ was away from Makkah. When he returned he saw Zainab had become a Muslim. When he first came back, his wife said “I have great news for you”. He stood up and left her. Zainab was surprised and followed him as she said, “My father became a Prophet (pbuh) and I have become a Muslim”.

He replied, “Why didn’t you tell me first?” Hence a big problem began between the two; a problem of religion and belief. She told him, “I wasn’t going to disbelieve in my father and his message, he is not a liar, and he is “The Honest and Trustworthy”. I’m not the only believer; my mother and my sisters became Muslims, my cousin Ali ibn Abi Talib became a Muslim, your cousin Uthman ibn Affan became a Muslim, and your friend, Abu Bakr, became a Muslim”.

He replied, “Well, as for me, I don’t want people to say, ‘he let down his people and his forefathers to please his wife’. And I am not accusing your father of anything”. Then he said, “So will you excuse me and understand?” She replied, “Who will excuse and understand you if I don’t? I will stay beside you and help you until you reach the truth.” And she kept her word for 20 years.
He remained an unbeliever, and then came the migration. Zainab went to her father and asked him for the permission to stay with her husband. The Prophet (SAW) replied, “Stay with your husband and children”.

Patience in Islam – The Story of Zainab bint Muhammad

So Zainab stayed in Makkah, until the battle of Badr occurred. Her husband was to fight in the army of Quraish against the Muslims. For Zainab, it meant that her husband will be fighting her father, a time Zainab had always feared. She kept crying out: “O Allah, I fear one day the sun may rise and my children become orphans or I lose my father”. So the battle started, and ended in victory for the Muslims. Abu al-’As ibn Rabi’ was captured by the Muslims, and news of this reached Makkah.

Zainab asked, “What did my father do?” They told her, “The Muslims won”. So she prayed to Allah, thanking Him. Then she asked: “What did my husband do?” They said: “He was captured”. She said, “I’ll send a payment to release him”. She didn’t own anything of much value, so she took off her mother’s necklace, and sent it with her huusbands brother to the Prophet (pbuh). While the Prophet (pbuh) was sitting, taking payments and releasing captives, he saw Khadeeja’s necklace. He held it up and asked: “Whose payment is this?”

They said: “Abu Al’As ibn Rabi”. He cried and said “This is Khadeeja’s necklace”. As soon as the Messenger of Allah saw that necklace, he had a feeling of extreme compassion and his heart palpitated for the great memory. The Companions who were present there gazed in amazement having being captivated by the magnificence of the situation. After a long silence, the Messenger of Allah stood up and said “People, this man is my in-law, should I release him? And do you accept the return of this necklace to my daughter?” They answered in unison “Yes, Messenger of Allah”.

The Prophet (pbuh) gave the necklace to Abu Al’As and said to him: “Tell Zainab not to give away Khadeeja’s necklace”. Then he (SAW) said, “Abu Al’As, Can we speak privately?” He took him aside and said, “Allah has ordered me to separate between a Muslim and a disbeliever, so could you return my daughter to me?” Abu El’Ass reluctantly agreed.

Zainab stood on the gates of Makkah waiting for the arrival of Abu Al’As. When he finally came he said, “I am going away”. She asked, “Where to?” He replied, “It is not me who is going, it is you. You are going to your father. We must separate because you are a Muslim”. She implored him, “Will you become a Muslim and come with me?” But he refused.

So Zainab took her son and daughter and traveled to Madinah, and for 6 years she refused to remarry, hoping that one day Abu Al’As would come. After 6 years, he was traveling in a caravan from Makkah to Syria. During the journey, he was intercepted by some of the Prophet’s companions. He escaped and asked for Zainab’s home. He knocked on her door shortly before the dawn prayer. She opened the door and asked him “Did you become a Muslim?” He whispered “No, I come as a fugitive”. She implored him once more “Can you become a Muslim?” Again his answer was a negative. “Do not worry.” She said, Welcome the father of my children.

After the Prophet (pbuh) prayed the dawn prayer in congregation with the people, they heard a voice from the back of the Masjid, “I have freed Abu Al’As ibn Rabi”. Zainab had granted his freedom. The Prophet (pbuh) asked, “Have you heard what I heard?” They all said, “Yes, Messenger of Allah”. Zainab said, “He is the father of my children and I have freed him”.

The Prophet(pbuh) stood up and said, “O people, I declare that this man was a very good son-in-law, he never broke his promise, and neither did he tell lies. So if you accept, I will return his money back and let him go. If you refuse it’s your decision and I will not blame you for it.” The companions agreed, “We will give him his money”.

So the Prophet (pbuh) said to Zainab, “We have freed the one you have freed, O Zainab.” Then he went to her and told her, …don’t let him get near you, he is prohibited for you.” She replied, “Sure, father, I’ll do as you say”.

She went in and told her husband, “O Abu Al’As, didn’t you miss us at all? Won’t you become a Muslim and stay with us?” But he refused. Abu Al’As then took the money and returned to Makkah.
Once he returned he stood up and announced, “O people, here is your money. Is there anything left?”

They replied, “No, Abu Al’As, there is nothing left, thanks a lot.” So Abu Al’As said, “I testify that there is no god but Allah, and Muhammad is His Messenger.”

Then he went back to Madinah and ran to the Prophet as he said, “Dear Prophet, you freed me yesterday, and today I say that I testify there is no god but Allah and you are His Messenger.”

He asked the Prophet (pbuh), “Will you give me the permission to go back to Zainab?” The Prophet (pbuh) smiled and said, “Come with me”; he took him to Zainab’s house and knocked on her door. The Prophet (pbuh) said, “O Zainab, your husband came to me and asked if he can return to you”. Just like 20 years before, her face turned red with bashfulness and she smiled.

The sad thing was, a year after this incident, Zainab died. Abu Al’As shed hot tears because of her death and drove those who were around him to tears. The Messenger of Allah came with eyes full of tears and a heart full of sorrow.

Zainab’s death reminded him of the death of his wife, Khadeejah. He told the women, who gathered around Zainab’s corpse, “Wash her three times and use camphor in the third wash.” He performed funeral prayers on her and followed her final resting place. Abu El’Ass returned to his children, Ali and Omama. Kissing them and wetting them with his tears, he remembered the face of his departed darling.

Abu El’Ass would cry so profusely that the people saw the Prophet (pbuh) himself weeping and calming him down. Abu Al’As would say, “By Allah, I can’t stand life anymore without Zainab”. He died one year after Zainab’s death.

May Allah be pleased with Zainab, the Prophet’s daughter and grant her Jannat-ul-Firdause for her patience, endurance and struggle. Ameen.

There signs which tell us about the day of  Judgemnet, Allah warned us that it is near we he sent Quran Down to our prophet Mohamed 1400 years Ago.
Allah said,
(Verily, We have warned you of a near torment) meaning, the Day of Judgement. It is mentioned here to emphasize the fact that its occurrence has become close, because everything that is coming will certainly come to pass.

(the Day when man will see that which his hands have sent forth,) meaning, all of his deeds will be presented to him -- the good and bad, and the old and new. This is similar to Allah's statement,

(And they will find all that they did, placed before them.) (18:49). It is also similar to His statement,

(On that Day man will be informed of what he sent forward, and what he left behind.) (75:13) Then Allah says,

How Near The Day of Judgement? it is Near

(and the disbeliever will say: "Woe to me! Would that I were dust!'') meaning, the disbeliever on that Day will wish that he had only been dust in the worldly life.

He will wish that he had not been created and that he had never come into existence. This will be when he sees the torment of Allah and he looks at his wicked deeds that will be written down against him by the noble righteous scribes among angels. It has been said that he will only wish for that when Allah passes judgement between all of the animals that were in the worldly life. He will rectify matters between them with His just wisdom that does not wrong anyone. Even the hornless sheep will be allowed to avenge itself against the sheep with horns.

Then, when the judgement between them is finished, He (Allah) will say to them (the animals), "Be dust.'' So they will all become dust. Upon witnessing this the disbeliever will say,

(Would that I were dust!) meaning, `I wish I was an animal so that I would be returned to dust.' Something of similar meaning to this has been reported in the well-known Hadith about the Sur. There are also narrations recorded from Abu Hurayrah, `Abdullah bin `Amr, and others concerning this.

My name is Cassie, I am 23 years old. I graduated as a qualified nurse this year and was given my first position as a home nurse.
My patient was an English gentleman in his early 80s who suffered from Alzheimer’s. In the first meeting, the patient was given his record and from it I could see that he was a convert to the religion of Islam, therefore he was a Muslim.

I knew from this that I would need to take into account some modes of treatment that may go against his faith, and therefore try to adapt my care to meet his needs. I brought in some ‘halal’ meat to cook for him and ensured that there was no pork or alcohol in the premises as I did some research which showed that these were forbidden in Islam.

My patient was in a very advanced stage of his condition so a lot of my colleagues could not understand why I was going through so much effort for him. But I understood that a person who commits to a faith deserves that commitment to be respected, even if they are not in a position to understand.

Anyway after a few weeks with my patient I began to notice some patterns of movement.

At first I thought it was some copied motions he’s seen someone doing, but I saw him repeat the movement at particular time; morning, afternoon, evening.

The movements were to raise his hands, bow and then put his head to the ground. I could not understand it. He was also repeating sentences in another language, I couldn’t figure out what language it was as his speech was slurred but I know the same verses were repeated daily.

Also there was something strange, he didn’t allow me to feed him with my left hand (I am left-handed).
Somehow I knew this linked to his religion but didn’t know how.

One of my colleagues told me about paltalk as a place for debates and discussions and as I did not know any Muslims except for my patient I thought it would be good to speak to someone live and ask questions. I went on the Islam section and entered the room ‘True Message’.

Here I asked questions regarding the repeated movements and was told that these were the actions of prayer. I did not really believe it until someone posted a link of the Islamic prayer on youtube.

I was shocked.

A man who has lost all memory of his children, of his occupation, and could barely eat and drink was able to remember not only actions of prayer but verses that were in another language.

This was nothing short of incredible and I knew that this man was devout in his faith, which made me want to learn more in order to care for him the best I could.

I came into the paltalk room as often as I could and was given a link to read the translation of the Quran and listen to it.

The chapter of the ‘Bee’ gave me chills and I repeated it several times a day.

I saved a recording of the Quran on my iPod and gave it to my patient to listen to, he was smiling and crying, and in reading the translation I could see why.

The-Nurse-and-the-Muslim-Patient-A-True-Story-from-the-United-Kingdom

I applied what I gained from paltalk to care for my patient but gradually found myself coming to the room to find answers for myself.

I never really took the time to look at my life; I never knew my father, my mother died when I was 3, me and my brother were raised by our grandparents who died 4 years ago, so now its just the two of us.

But despite all this loss, I always thought I was happy, content.

It was only after spending time with my patient that felt like I was missing something. I was missing that sense of peace and tranquility my patient, even through suffering felt.
I wanted that sense of belonging and a part of something that he felt, even with no one around him.

I was given a list of mosques in my area by a lady on paltalk and went down to visit one. I watched the prayer and could not hold back my tears.

I felt drawn to the mosque every day and the imam and his wife would give me books and tapes and welcome any questions I had

Every question I asked at the mosque and on paltalk was answered with such clarity and depth that could do nothing but accept them.

I have never practiced a faith but always believed that there was a God; I just did not know how to worship Him.

One evening I came on paltalk and one of the speakers on the mic addressed me. He asked me if I have any questions, I said no. He asked if I was happy with the answers I was given, I said yes.

He asked then what was stopping me accepting Islam, I could not answer.

I went to the mosque to watch the dawn prayer. The imam asked me the same question, I could not answer.

I then went to tend to my patient, I was feeding him and as I looked in his eyes I just realized, he was brought to me for a reason and the only thing stopping me from accepting was fear…. not fear in the sense of something bad, but fear of accepting something good, and thinking that I was not worthy like this man.

That afternoon I went to the mosque and asked the imam if I could say my declaration of faith, the Shahadah.: lā ilāha illà al-Lāh, Muhammadun rasūlu Al-Lāh. (There is nothing worthy of any worship except ther Creator Allah, and Muhammad is God’s final messenger.)
He helped me through it and guided me through what I would need to do next.

I cannot explain the feeling I felt when I said it.

It was like someone woke me up from sleep and sees everything more clearly.

The feeling was overwhelming joy, clarity and most of all…. peace.

The first person I told was not my brother but my patient.

I went to him, and before I even opened my mouth he cried and smiled at me.

I broke down in front of him, I owed him so much.

I came home logged on to paltalk and repeated the shahadah for the room.

They all helped me so much and even though I had never seen a single one of them, they felt closer to me than my own brother.

I did eventually call my brother to tell him and although he wasn’t happy, he supported me and said he would be there, I couldn’t ask for any more.

After my first week as a Muslim my patient passed away in his sleep while I was caring for him. Inna lillahi wa inna ilayhi rajioon.

He died a peaceful death and I was the only person with him.

He was like the father I never had and he was my doorway to Islam.

From the day of my Shahadah to this very day and for every day for as long as I live, I will pray that Allah shows mercy on him and grant him every good deed I perform in the tenfold.

I loved him for the sake of Allah and I pray each night to become an atoms weight of the Muslim he was.

Islam is a religion with an open door; it is there for those who want to enter it…. Verily Allah is the Most Merciful, Most Kind.

* Note * Our sister Cassie passed away October 2010 Inna lillahi wa inna ilayhi rajioon, after she gave da’wa to her brother, who had accepted Islam Alhamdulillah.
