He said, “My Lord, indeed I have wronged myself, so forgive me,” and He forgave him. Indeed, He is the Forgiving, the Merciful.
Moses (alayhi salam) asked for Allah’s forgiveness and supplicated the above mentioned Qur’an verse when he unintentionally killed an enemy in the midst of saving his friend. And Allah forgave him.
Allah Subhana Wa Ta’ala is the Most Merciful and Forgiving. As humans, we are weak and prone to making mistakes. However, no mistake is greater than Allah’s mercy. We learn from our mistakes by recognizing the mistake and seeking Allah’s forgiveness in order to rectify our wrongs. Allah gives faith and hope to all of us so never feel discouraged of the amount of sins you’ve committed; instead use Allah’s mercy as a way to better yourself and to stay away from sins. By seeking Allah’s forgiveness, you are putting your trust and hope in Him. Surely, Allah will not let you down. Make du’a, supplicate in sincerity and repent. Allah will respond to you.
