A man came to Ḥasan al-Baṣrī رحمه الله and complained to him about
famine and drought so he said to him: ‘Seek forgiveness from Allāh’,
then a second man came to him and complained about (his) need and
poverty so it was said to him: ‘Seek forgiveness from Allāh’, then a
third (man) came to him and complained about lack of offspring so it was
said to him: ‘Seek forgiveness from Allāh’, the people were amazed by
his answers so (he) explained to them through the understanding of
Qur'ān [71:10-12]:

“I said (to them): ‘Ask forgiveness from your Lord; Verily, He is
Oft-Forgiving; He will send rain to you in abundance. And give you
increase in wealth and children, and bestow on you gardens and bestow on
you rivers’.”
O how beautiful and true this is, may Allāh have mercy upon him, amazing understanding of Allāh’s Speech.
