The Ten Days of Dhul-Hijah

We are about to begin the holiest ten days of the year. Unfortunately many of us don’t realize that these ten days are even holier than the days of Ramadan.

In a hadeeth, we learn that doing good deeds in these days is more beloved to Allah than ANY other good deeds, except for the deed of sacrificing all of one’s property and life for Allah.

Just imagine what that means! Doing good in these ten days can allow us to reach the highest of the high. It can enter us in the ranks of the righteous, and cause our sins to be forgiven.

Some of the deeds we should do in these days:

1) Hajj (for those fortunate to go!)
2) Dhikr, especially the kalima
3) Fasting, especially on the 9th, for it forgives the sins of the past and future year
4) All other good deeds, such as salat, charity, repentance, reciting Quran, dua, etc.
